Retro PANEL SSAB GreenCoat Pural BT Matt 0.5 mm is a modern, premium metal roofing solution featuring a self-locking KLIK system. It combines the elegant appearance of traditional standing seam roofing with fast installation, concealed fastening, and the high durability of Swedish SSAB steel.
The panels are manufactured from 0.50 mm steel with the premium matt GreenCoat Pural BT Matt coating, designed for long-term use on roofs and in demanding climatic conditions.
Thanks to the concealed fastening system with no visible screws, Retro PANEL creates a clean and continuous roof surface resembling traditional standing seam roofing, while offering significantly faster and easier installation.
GreenCoat is a range of high-quality colour-coated steels manufactured by SSAB.
For Retro PANEL, we use GreenCoat Pural BT Matt in a thickness of 0.50 mm, suitable for profiled roofing components and roofing systems with locking joints.
The premium coating provides excellent protection against corrosion, UV radiation, mechanical damage, and long-term exposure to weather conditions. SSAB specifies the highest UV resistance class RUV5 and corrosion resistance class RC5+ for GreenCoat Pural BT Matt.

Retro PANEL uses a self-locking standing seam system, eliminating the need to mechanically close each seam using traditional standing seam tools.
The panel is secured through its perforated mounting flange, and the following panel covers the fastening area. As a result, no fixing screws are visible on the finished roof surface.
The result is a minimalist roof with distinctive longitudinal lines, visually similar to traditional standing seam roofing.
This system also significantly reduces installation time compared with traditional hand-seamed roofing.
The panels can be manufactured with longitudinal profiling, which helps improve their dimensional stability and reduces the visual appearance of natural waviness that can occur in long metal roofing panels.
The result is a clean and modern roof with consistent lines running from the eaves to the ridge.
Retro PANEL roofing is suitable for a wide range of buildings, including:
family houses,
modern new builds,
roof renovations,
bungalows,
extensions,
dormers,
garages,
garden buildings,
office buildings,
commercial properties.
Thanks to its simple and elegant design, Retro PANEL can be used with both contemporary architecture and more traditional residential buildings.
One of the key differences compared with basic polyester coatings is the premium GreenCoat Pural BT Matt protective finish.
The organic coating has a nominal thickness of 50 μm and, together with the 275 g/m² zinc layer, provides a high level of protection for the steel core.
The surface achieves a corrosion resistance rating of RC5+ and UV resistance of RUV5, helping preserve both the functional properties and appearance of the roof over the long term.
The matt texture, with a gloss level below 5, also reduces strong reflections and gives the roof a deeper, more elegant appearance.
The GreenCoat Pural BT surface finish uses Bio-based Technology (BT). According to SSAB, part of the traditional fossil-based components in the coating has been replaced with Swedish rapeseed oil and other renewable raw materials.
The material is also chromate-free and complies with REACH requirements.
Retro PANEL panels are manufactured according to the specific dimensions of each roof. Individual panel lengths can be adapted to the project to minimise material waste and unnecessary joints.
Before ordering, we recommend preparing an accurate roof drawing showing the dimensions and lengths of individual roof slopes. This allows the optimum panel lengths, quantities, and required roofing accessories to be calculated.
Retro PANEL can be supplied together with all the necessary roofing accessories, including:
ridge flashings,
eaves flashings,
verge flashings,
wall connection flashings,
custom sheet-metal flashings,
valley flashings,
fastening materials,
sealing components,
snow guards,
diffusion membranes,
separation and drainage mats,
complete rainwater gutter systems.
This makes it possible to order a complete material package for the entire roof as one coordinated system.
Retro PANEL SSAB GreenCoat Pural BT Matt 0.5 mm is designed for customers who want the elegant appearance of standing seam roofing while preferring the faster and simpler installation of a modern KLIK panel system.
The combination of Swedish SSAB steel, 0.50 mm thickness, 275 g/m² zinc protection, a premium 50 μm coating, RC5+ corrosion resistance, and RUV5 UV resistance creates a high-quality roofing system designed for long-term use.
