BERNA metal fence – modern design and long-term durability without maintenance

BERNA metal fence slats were designed as a modern alternative to traditional wooden fences. They offer a clean and elegant appearance, high strength and long service life without the need for maintenance that is common with wooden fences.

Thanks to the use of high-quality steel and modern surface treatments, the BERNA fence provides high resistance to weather conditions, color stability and a long-term representative appearance.

Design and design options

BERNA fence slats from the BILKA brand combine the strength of steel with an attractive design and a wide range of colors and surfaces.

The slats can be made of:

• pre-painted steel sheet (4 types of surface treatments),
• SSAB steel painted on both sides,
• highly durable Magnelis® material.

Variants painted on one side and painted on both sides are available, which allows the fence to perfectly match the architecture of the house.

Technical characteristics

BERNA fence slats are made of double-sided galvanized steel sheet, protected by a polyester surface treatment.

Basic technical parameters:

• total / usable width of the slat: 105 mm,
• rebate height: 9.2 mm,
• production lengths: 0.8–2.5 m,
• material: double-sided galvanized steel sheet.

Material thickness

• single-sided painted sheet metal: 0.40–0.50 mm,
• double-sided painted sheet metal: 0.40 / 0.50 / 0.60 mm.

Warranty and service life

The following warranties apply to BERNA fence slats depending on the type of surface treatment:

• 10 years - glossy surface (paint and corrosion),
• 15 years - matte surface and wood decor (Wood),
• up to 30 years - GrandeMat surface treatment,
• double-sided painted sheet metal 0.60 mm:

             20 years (matt) / 15 years (gloss),

• double-sided painted sheet metal 0.40 mm:

             5 years for paint and corrosion.

The estimated service life of the fence system is up to 60 years.
