Standing seam roofing made from premium 0.5 mm Swedish SSAB steel is a high-quality solution for both modern and traditional roofs. It combines the elegant appearance of standing seam roofing with high-quality Swedish steel and a durable matt surface finish.
The material is suitable for family houses, modern new builds, renovations, extensions, dormers, and other architecturally demanding structures. Standing seam roofing creates clean roof surfaces without visible fasteners and can also be adapted to roofs with complex or unconventional geometries.
We use high-quality 0.50 mm SSAB coated steel with a matt surface finish.
Swedish SSAB steel is characterised by the high quality of the base material, manufacturing precision, and excellent surface protection. The combination of galvanised steel and a high-quality organic coating makes the material suitable for long-term use in demanding outdoor conditions.
The matt finish gives the roof a modern, premium appearance while providing excellent protection against UV radiation, corrosion, mechanical stress, and weathering.
Depending on the specific SSAB GreenCoat product supplied, premium matt finishes can achieve the following parameters:
Steel manufacturer: SSAB
Steel thickness: 0.50 mm
Surface finish: matt, textured
Zinc coating: 275 g/m²
Nominal coating thickness: up to 50 μm
Corrosion resistance: up to RC5+
UV resistance: up to RUV5
Scratch resistance: up to 40 N
Minimum forming temperature: down to −15 °C
Maximum operating temperature: 100 °C
Minimum inside bending radius: 1 × sheet thickness
Fire classification: A1 s1 d0
Excellent resistance to staining and weather conditions
Specific technical parameters may vary slightly depending on the selected SSAB GreenCoat product range and colour.
Swedish SSAB steel offers a number of advantages compared with standard economy-grade coated steel sheets.
One of its key benefits is the higher level of surface protection and excellent resistance to long-term exposure to demanding weather conditions.
The main advantages include:
premium Swedish steel,
0.50 mm steel thickness,
high-quality matt finish,
excellent corrosion resistance,
high UV stability,
very good mechanical resistance,
high scratch resistance,
excellent colour stability,
good formability,
suitable for standing seam roofing and custom sheet-metal details,
modern and elegant appearance,
long service life when correctly designed and installed.
The matt finish is particularly suitable for modern family houses and buildings where an elegant roof appearance with reduced gloss is preferred.
The textured surface reduces strong reflections from sunlight and gives the colour a deeper visual appearance. At the same time, the coating provides a high level of protection for the steel against weathering and environmental exposure.
The premium SSAB GreenCoat Pural BT Matt surface finish features a nominal organic coating thickness of 50 μm, corrosion resistance of RC5+, and the highest UV resistance classification of RUV5.
Standing seam panels are manufactured in lengths according to the specific dimensions of the roof and the customer's requirements.
This makes it possible to minimise the number of transverse joints and create a clean, continuous roof surface.
For roofs requiring exceptionally long panels, we can also arrange on-site profiling of standing seam panels using professional roll-forming equipment, subject to prior agreement.
This technology allows very long panels to be manufactured directly on site according to the actual roof dimensions, minimising the number of joints.
SSAB 0.5 mm standing seam roofing is suitable for:
family houses,
modern new builds,
roof renovations,
extensions,
dormers,
garages and garden buildings,
administrative and commercial buildings,
façades and architectural elements.
Thanks to the flexibility of standing seam technology, the roofing can also be used on roofs with more complex geometries.
We recommend standing seam roofing made from 0.50 mm matt Swedish SSAB steel to customers looking for a higher-quality solution than standard economy-grade polyester-coated steel.
The high quality of the base steel, reliable zinc protection, and premium matt surface finish contribute to a long service life and help the roof retain its appearance over time.
The result is a durable, modern and elegant standing seam roof that combines traditional sheet-metal roofing technology with high-quality modern Swedish steel.
