Why do homeowners choose IKO shingles?

With a unique roof tile warranty and IKO's platinum warranty, this exclusive warranty program is completely free. Depending on the bag collection, the IKO concern provides a platinum warranty ranging from 10 to 15 years, which guarantees customers that the roof is reliable in the long term. This warranty covers the complete roof replacement cycle in the event of a claim, including disassembly, assembly, transport and material, as well as a standard roof tile warranty of up to 30 years, in accordance with European legislation.

Within the framework of a closed production cycle, IKO is the only global producer of roofing materials that produces all materials and tile components in its own factories. In this way, production is not dependent on external suppliers and ensures the high quality of its own products. The production of asphalt roof tiles is fully under the control of the IKO concern and meets European standards.

To ensure quality materials, IKO asphalt shingles are impregnated with oxidized bitumen. Oxidation is an expensive and high-tech process, requiring expensive equipment (oxygen is supplied under pressure in huge tanks). After the activation or oxidation of asphalt shingles, a chemically polymerized pure bitumen is produced, in which all impurities have been burned. This improves aging resistance and heat resistance. Therefore, in North America, Canada and Europe, bitumen shingles are produced only with oxidized bitumen, in contrast to Russia and Finland, where roof tiles are laid even at low temperatures. IKO roof tiles based on oxidized asphalt do not react chemically with oxygen in the roof atmosphere, which prevents incomplete chemical reactions and unpleasant odors throughout the life of the roofing.

With 98 variants of shapes and colors of asphalt roof tiles, the IKO concern provides the opportunity to implement various complex roof projects. There are situations where other materials cannot be used due to their design or other properties.

Special attention is paid to the IKO Cambridge collection of double-layer laminated bags, which provide a three-dimensional effect and can be combined with the Cambridge Xtreme bags for low slopes. Thanks to the fully self-adhesive back layer of the Cambridge Xtreme model, this type can also be used on roofs with a pitch of 9.5 degrees (with warranty). This feature expands the range of asphalt shingles, as shingles from any other manufacturer cannot be used on such small roof slopes. This model has won recognition from both customers and architects and designers around the world. Let's look at the key question when building a house - choosing a roof.

IKO roof

How to choose the right roof? We do not want to convince you about a specific asphalt bag or material. On the contrary, we want to motivate you to make a considered decision, because it will have a lasting impact not only on you, but also on your descendants. There is a lot of information out there about choosing the right roofing material, but few emphasize that a key aspect of this decision is investing in a home that brings joy and happiness.

What exactly does it mean to "bring luck"? These are warm evenings with family and friends, business decisions, the joy of spending time with friends and, above all, the children who grow up in this house. It is essential to carefully choose the materials for your home so that these moments are full of comfort.

Many people focus only on the price or cost per square meter of shingles and believe that they can save money this way. However, practice shows that this is unfortunately not true. For any material, the price is directly proportional to its lifespan and quality. In general, the higher the price, the longer the life of the roof; conversely, a lower price usually means a shorter material life.

Investing in the right roof is an investment in your comfort, your home and your long-term happiness and peace of mind. A quality decision today can prevent future worries about roof replacement or repair. Money saved today could backfire in the future, and you'd once again find yourself faced with a difficult decision about your roof.

The price per square meter of a roof consists of many factors

Let's look at these factors:

materials;

degree of processing;

equipment used.

Let's take a closer look at this question:

If you make products from expensive and high-quality raw materials, the price will be higher. If you use raw material processing in your factories with expensive equipment that creates safe products, the price will be higher. If you improve the technology, do research, the price will also be higher.

But the output price will be lower if the shingles are produced from material from third-party suppliers in a production facility with a belt conveyor, which is cheaper. Likewise, if you use cheap raw materials of unclear quality, the price will be lower. And if you do not invest in the renovation and modernization of equipment, buy old or outdated equipment or used equipment from another manufacturer, of course the price will be lower.

Therefore, it is important to consider what the products are made of and how this affects the quality and lifespan of the roof. The roof is not a part of the house where it is possible to save. It is better to save on the Italian kitchen or other elements, but not on the roof. The roof must protect your house from snow, hail, rain, cold and heat. Therefore, when choosing bags and material for the roof, it is better to take into account the criteria of durability, practicality, comfort and safety, as well as the proven quality level over time.

In order to choose a safe, comfortable and reliable roof, it is crucial to realize that snow will not fall from it like an avalanche, and the noise of the rain will not disturb your sleep or the sleep of your children. The roof must keep calm, and most importantly, it must have waterproof properties inside the house to protect your home for many decades after installation from all climatic influences. Choosing a roof is a one-time decision and represents an investment in a project that will bring you comfort, happiness and peace of mind for many years. Therefore, it is advisable to approach it seriously so that you do not have to deal with this issue again in the future.

A brief history of the IKO Group

IKO concern for the production of roof coverings.

IKO Sales International represents the world's leading manufacturer of roof tiles, which are distributed worldwide. With more than twenty roofing factories in global regions such as North America, USA, Canada and Europe, it is a major player in the market. The name IKO is derived from the acronym and the name of the founder Isidor Koshický. In 1950, he emigrated from Poland to Canada, where he founded a factory for the production of roof coverings. Its products have gained popularity all over the world.

Despite the existence of other manufacturers of asphalt shingles, IKO has maintained itself as a pioneer and manufacturer of high quality products. In Europe, IKO roof tiles have been produced since 1972. Currently, IKO is represented in all European countries (Western and Eastern), and is also present in North America, Asia and Africa. There are places in the Czech Republic where roofs with asphalt tiles from IKO have lasted for more than 20 years.

IKO Group is characterized by:

The production of roof tiles in a closed cycle and the use of high-quality materials for production are key aspects of the production of the IKO concern.

The bags are available in a wide range of colors and designs, which not only ensures reliability, but also a long life thanks to the excellent adhesion of the materials.

The IKO concern offers a very reasonable product price and an optimal price/quality combination, which makes them a competitive choice on the market.

Asphalt bags resist climate changes, are flexible, durable and effectively resist heat and wind.

All models of asphalt roof tiles have a European warranty, with a maximum warranty period of up to 35 years in accordance with European legislation.

This environmentally friendly material strictly meets European standards, because only high-quality raw materials are used for the production of bituminous tiles. Thanks to this, the products of the IKO concern have won the trust of hundreds of thousands of customers around the world.

How is IKO bitumen shingle produced?

The IKO soft roof for your home is the result of a careful continuous production process. At the start of production, large rolls of reinforcing layer are brought in to allow a continuous flow of material. During the process, material accumulates and when the roll needs to be replaced, a continuous supply of high-quality raw materials is ensured.

Bitumen is applied to the surface of the reinforcing layer using specialized coating equipment, while mineral stabilizers are added to ensure the stabilization of the bags and provide fire-resistant properties. The ceramicized basalt granulate is carefully pressed to the upper part of the coating. This material, characterized by zero absorbency, is subjected to ceramization in ovens so that the bags retain their color. At the same time, the resin coating is protected from the harmful effects of sunlight.

Sand is applied to the underside of the shingles, which prevents the shingles from sticking together in the package during transport. In addition, a shingle protection film is used where the bitumen boards are applied, which ensures a solid connection between the shingles and the roof. After these processes, the granules are again pressed into the asphalt sheets and the bags are cooled.

The roofing sheets are then carefully cut into the necessary parts in the form of bags. These bags are carefully wrapped in foil, stacked on packaging pallets and stored in the warehouse, which ensures high product quality and reliable service life.

IKO operates approximately 20 vertically integrated factories where all processes are carried out to high standards in a closed production cycle. Raw materials for IKO roof tiles are carefully manufactured in our own factories in Canada, USA and Europe. These roof tiles are quality marked and come with a Platinum Warranty which covers all costs associated with roof replacement, including installation, removal and transport.

Center for roof coverings, Prague - ROOFER offers a wide range of colors, shapes and types of coverings at competitive prices. With this diverse range, you can expect not only quality tiles, but also excellent value for money. Roofing from IKO will serve reliably for many years, protect your home and bring you joy and satisfaction.

In what ways does the seller try to disappoint the buyer?

Comparative. We often hear characterizations like "this is better" and "this is worse". Ask the salesperson to explain exactly what these "better" and "worse" mean, and you will immediately see his competence. Only technical characteristics of materials, parameters or facts can be compared, which are expressed by mathematical numbers, not by the words "worse" or "better".

50-100 year guarantee. If they tell you that the warranty is 50 or 100 years, it does not mean at all that after 50 years you will still have a good roof (for example, the IKO warranty is platinum and only for 10-15 years), or someone will send you money back. In fact, after 10-20 years from the total amount of purchased material, the following will be subtracted: ultraviolet, solar, snow, climatic and other types of load on the coverage, but never 100% of the material. Only 5-10% of the bags will have the material you purchased! From a legal point of view, the manufacturer will be right - after all, there is a 50-year warranty - but it only covers a small part of the total amount of roof material. Then keep in mind that a roof replacement involves removing the shingles, installing a new roof, shipping costs, and often replacing the wood and insulation, which the customer will have to pay for.

Molecular delusions. You may often hear something like:

Our roof covering is characterized by excellent quality due to the unique structure of the molecules. Asphalt bitumen molecules form stable bonds with rubber molecules, while polymer atoms are covalently linked with modifying electrons. This complex process creates super-stable cognitive bonds with the crystal lattice of bitumen, which ensures the excellent resistance and durability of our roofing. Thanks to this unique molecular structure, you can be sure that our roofing provides optimal protection and reliability in any climate.

How can we confirm these claims about the ""molecular benefits"" of our roofing? Nowadays, marketing is able to present products in different lights, and terms like ""molecular benefits"" are becoming more and more popular. "Everyone buys and they are very happy." We often hear this statement. However, it is important to emphasize who exactly uses this material, what are its main purposes and in what quantities. There is a possibility that this material is especially preferred by people who need a cover for their gazebo, shed or cabin, and at the same time are not interested in investing in high-quality material or prefer more affordable alternatives. The goal is to provide accurate information about the group of users who prefer this material and for what specific purposes it is most often used. In this way, we want to ensure that our customers are informed about the variety of uses and at the same time can find the optimal solution for their individual needs. People often hesitate to invest in quality European material because of the higher price and choose cheap products from other manufacturers. In such cases, it is natural to seek confirmation of the quality of this material from different vendors. However, this decision is sometimes related to the desire to save on the roof, which is, after all, the most important part of the house. The reality is that when looking for confirmations from sellers, we come across claims that the cheap option is great, reliable and everyone is happy with it. In such situations, it is necessary to maintain the utmost caution. When choosing roofing materials and in general when choosing for your house, it is crucial to prefer quality and proven products. Don't just rely on word of mouth, but carefully consider the options and choose materials that meet high standards and guarantee long-term reliability. Our goal is to provide customers with transparent information and confidence in the quality of our roofing. If you have specific questions or require additional information, we are here to provide you with the relevant information and ensure that you are informed about all aspects of our products. Your trust and satisfaction are our priority.
